We at MEA would like to provide our Members with updated information regarding Fraud Prevention and current Fraud Alerts as part of our service commitment to you. Please see the following:
 
The Fraud Alerts section contains information on confirmed incidents that may or may not affect you. If you have questions regarding any of these items please contact a Member Service Representative.
 
The Fraud Information section contains valuable reference material designed to help you make informed decisions to help combat various types of fraudulent activities, including identity theft. If you have any questions regarding any of these items please contact a Member Service Representative. 
Due to recent scam websites and phishing attacks, we at MEA would like to remind you to never respond to emails asking for private information. We will NEVER solicit any login information from you via any automated correspondence.
 
If you believe a website or email is fraudulent please contact us immediately, and DO NOT provide any information without speaking to us first. Below you will find some information designed to help combat these threats.

Information Services & Technology

1. Consider using an updated web browser (Mozilla's Firefox Version 2 and Microsoft's Internet Explorer Version 7 both contain tools to aid in the detection of fraudulent websites), and ensure the anti-phishing filter is activated.
 
2. Look over the email and/or website. MEA will NEVER send any email asking you to update any personal information via a link to a website. If we require you to update or check any information it will be posted on our website and in the newsletter. When in doubt DO NOT provide any information without verifying it with us in person or on the phone.
 
3. Check the greeting. If someone from MEA does send you a message via email it will be addressed to you directly, and will not ask for you to supply any private information. We will NEVER ask for your PIN and Card Numbers.
 
4. If you receive a suspect email please forward it to: webmaster@meafcu.org
